Manchester City have reportedly initiated contact with the representatives of Felix Nmecha as they explore a potential summer move for the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.

Nmecha has become a key figure in Dortmund’s engine room under head coach Niko Kovac. The 25-year-old has delivered consistent performances this season, cementing his place in the starting eleven and emerging as one of the side’s most reliable contributors.

Despite his growing importance at Signal Iduna Park, speculation about his future is beginning to intensify.

According to Sky, Manchester City are closely tracking the German international’s progress and have already reached out to his management to sound out the possibility of a transfer.

A return to England could hold appeal for Nmecha, who previously came through City’s youth system and is understood to be open to the idea of playing in the Premier League.

Dortmund, however, are determined to retain their midfield mainstay. Sporting director Sebastian Kehl has reportedly held preliminary discussions with the player’s new representatives regarding a potential contract extension.

Nmecha remains under contract until 2028 and currently earns around €5 million per year.

The Bundesliga club are said to be prepared to improve his salary in order to secure his long term future and fend off interest from the reigning English champions.
