Former Angola coach Patrice Beaumelle is on the brink of becoming head coach of Tunisian outfit Esperance de Tunis.
The Tunisian giants are currently without a substantive manager after parting ways with Maher Kanzari on Monday, February 9, 2026. The decision to sack Maher Kanzari stem from their defeat to Stade Malien in the CAF Champions League penultimate group stage clash at the weekend.
However, Esperance have stormed the market searching for a new tactician, with the French tactician set to be named the new manager of the club.
This comes after he parted ways with the Angolan national team two days ago. Beaumelle is expected to sign a two-and-a-half-year contract with Esperance.
The enterprising trainer will arrive in Tunisia in the coming hours to finalize details before putting pen to paper.
Per reports, Beaumelle could attend Esperance’s match against Future of Soliman in the Tunisian league on Tuesday.
Beaumelle worked as an assistant to his compatriot Hervé Renard in the coaching staff of Morocco, Zambia and Ivory Coast.
Before taking over the coaching of the Ivory Coast national team, then the Algerian Union team, then Umm Salal of Qatar, and finally the Angolan national team.
Esperance qualified for the quarter-finals of the African Champions League by defeating Petro Atletico of Angola in the final round of the tournament’s group stage.
Thus, Esperance will play in the quarter-finals against one of the top teams in the other groups, Al Ahly, Pyramids and Al Hilal of Sudan.
