PSG forward Ibrahim Mbaye gives Liverpool clear signal as transfer talks continue
Ibrahim Mbaye has told Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to join Liverpool, with negotiations between the two clubs continuing over a potential move for the young forward.
According to Topskills Sports UK, Mbaye has made his preference known to the Paris Saint-Germain hierarchy. Discussions over his personal terms are reportedly already at an advanced stage, with a contract running until 2031 being considered.
The player is said to favour a move to the Premier League club, although an agreement between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain has not yet been reached. The negotiations are continuing behind the scenes as both sides attempt to resolve the financial differences in the deal.
Liverpool have reportedly submitted a package worth €50m for Mbaye. That proposal is understood to include €40m in guaranteed payments, with a further €10m available through bonuses.
Paris Saint-Germain consider that offer too low. The French club are seeking between €55m and €60m in guaranteed fees before agreeing to release their young attacker. They are not currently prepared to accept Liverpool’s opening proposal and remain willing to listen to other interested clubs that can meet their valuation.
The dispute could have immediate consequences for Mbaye. While the transfer situation remains unresolved, he may be left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s matches until the final day of the transfer window. If no offer reaches the club’s expectations, his exclusion could continue until January.
That possibility has turned the deal into one of the transfer stories to watch as the window moves towards its conclusion. Mbaye’s desire to move to Liverpool is set against Paris Saint-Germain’s determination to secure a higher guaranteed fee, with the coming hours potentially important to the outcome.
Mbaye is currently valued at €30m by Transfermarkt. His reported annual salary in France is €910,000, equivalent to 591.5m CFA francs.
Paris Saint-Germain are due to face Lille in their second match of the French league season. Betting company 1xbet lists Paris Saint-Germain as the favourites for that fixture, with odds of 1.75 for a home win. A draw is priced at 4.00, while a Lille victory is listed at 3.35.
The match will take place as the transfer discussions surrounding Mbaye continue. Liverpool’s offer has opened the latest stage of the stand-off, but Paris Saint-Germain’s financial demands mean the proposed move remains dependent on further negotiations.
