Ghana international Thomas Partey is expected to appear in court in the coming weeks as legal proceedings involving the former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey continue to unfold.
Partey, who now plies his trade for Villarreal in Spain is scheduled for a court hearing next month in relation to new allegations that have been brought forward. The development marks the latest stage in a case that has been ongoing for some time and has attracted significant public attention.
The midfielder has now been charged with two more counts of rape relating to an additional woman. The Crown Prosecution Service said the fresh counts come after a new investigation by the Met Police. He will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, 13 March for a first hearing.
As previously reported, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the United Kingdom has filed five charges against the 31-year-old midfielder. The investigation dates back to February 2022, when the alleged victim first made a statement, prompting authorities to begin formal inquiries into the matter.
While legal process continues, Partey has remained active on the pitch this season, making 21 appearances across competitions for Villarreal. Meanwhile, the former Arsenal midfielder has struggled to command a starting role under manager Marcelino, having been sparingly used in the ongoing campaign.
The situation remains subject to ongoing legal proceedings, and further clarity is expected following the upcoming court hearing. Until then, both club and player are continuing with their respective commitments as the case progresses through the judicial system.
