Botswana left-back Kitso Mangolo joins Gaborone United from Richards Bay
Botswana left-back Kitso Mangolo has joined Gaborone United from South African club Richards Bay, completing a move that takes the 27-year-old back to his home country.
Mangolo’s transfer was recorded on 10 August 2026, with Gaborone United listed as his new club. He plays primarily as a left-back and has been registered with the Botswana side following his departure from Richards Bay, who compete in the Betway Premiership.
The move sees Mangolo leave South Africa for Botswana after his spell with Richards Bay. He is from Bobonong, Botswana, and his return places him at one of the country’s established football clubs.
Mangolo was born on 6 January 1999 and is 27 years old. His main position is in defence on the left side, giving Gaborone United an experienced Botswana-born option in that role.
He is also listed with Gaborone United as his national club, linking his current club status with the country of his nationality. The transfer therefore represents both a change of club and a return to Botswana-based football after his time in the South African top division.
Richards Bay were Mangolo’s previous club, while Gaborone United are now the latest team recorded in his career. No transfer fee has been stated for the move, and no contract expiry date has been provided.
The completed transfer was registered on 10 August 2026, with Mangolo now a Gaborone United player.
