Sevilla FC put off by €30m asking price for Marseille forward Amine Gouiri

Sevilla FC made enquiries about Amine Gouiri in July but were reportedly deterred by the fee requested for the Algeria international, with Olympique de Marseille valuing the 26-year-old at about €30m.

Gouiri has attracted interest from several clubs as the start of the 2026-27 season approaches. According to Foot Mercato, the Andalusian club sought information about the forward’s situation during the summer, but the financial demands surrounding a potential transfer proved a significant obstacle.

The player remains under contract with Olympique de Marseille until 2029. That long-term agreement gives the French club a strong position, although Marseille are understood to be willing to consider the offers that arrive for Gouiri. The situation is therefore not closed, with other clubs potentially ready to make contact in the coming weeks.

Gouiri’s future remains uncertain, but the forward is currently focused on his preparations with Marseille. Despite the interest, there has been no indication that he is looking beyond the club as the new campaign draws closer.

Transfermarkt values Gouiri at €28m, slightly below the figure reportedly sought by Marseille. His annual salary in France is listed at €4,550,000, equivalent to 2,957,500,000 CFA francs.

The Algeria international comes into the new season after an encouraging campaign with Marseille. He scored eight goals and supplied three assists in 22 Ligue 1 appearances last season, numbers which have helped maintain interest in his services.

Marseille are due to begin their Ligue 1 campaign against Strasbourg in the opening round of the French championship. The match will provide Gouiri with an opportunity to continue preparing for the season while speculation about his position at the club continues.
