Raja Casablanca have been dealt another difficult blow in the wake of their narrow defeat to Meknes Club, with midfielder Aymen Barkok ruled out for the coming weeks due to injury.
Barkok picked up the setback during the eleventh round Professional Championship clash, which ended in a 1-0 victory for Meknes.
The player underwent detailed medical examinations on Monday to determine the extent of the injury sustained after a heavy challenge in the encounter between the Green Team and Meknes Club.
The results confirmed that Barqouq suffered a muscle tear in his thigh, an injury that requires a specific treatment and rehabilitation programme under the close supervision of Raja’s medical staff.
Club doctors are now focused on ensuring the player makes a safe and effective recovery, with a carefully structured rehabilitation plan designed to guide him through each stage of treatment.
The objective, according to medical sources, is to return Barkok to action in optimal condition while minimising the risk of any relapse that could extend his time on the sidelines.
A source indicated that Barqouq is expected to be out of action for approximately four weeks. His return to group training will be gradual and will depend largely on how his condition progresses and how well he responds to treatment.
This absence is set to impact Raja’s squad depth as the team enters a crucial phase of the season.
The injury compounds an already sensitive period for Raja Casablanca, coming shortly after the loss to Meknes Club, a result that left the team stuck on 19 points in third place.
With pressure mounting in the national championship race, the technical staff are now forced to explore alternative options to maintain balance within the squad and prevent further loss of ground in the title chase.
