South African outfit Durban City have mutually parted ways with head coach Sinethemba Badela following an inconsistent performance in the ongoing campaign.
Badela joined Durban City at the start of the year after departing fellow South African outfit, Chippa United three games into the current season.
He had replaced Gavin Hunt at the Durban club and was expected to turn things around and fully express his philosophy
But his spell at the club has been cut short, having being shown the exit door by the club’s leadership, signaling their displeasure about the club’s performance.
This is just after the club defeated his former team, Chippa United, in the Nedbank Cup last-32 tie on Friday night.
“Thank you, Coach Badela. Durban City FC confirms that the Club has parted ways with Head Coach Sinethemba Badela by mutual agreement,” the club said via a statement. “We appreciate his service and wish him every success moving forward.”
Durban City are currently sixth on the South Africa Premier League standings, accumulating 25 points after 17 matches.
