Abdul-Halik Hudu has completed a move from I-League side Rajasthan United to Indian Super League outfit SC Delhi, sealing a transfer that keeps the Ghanaian defensive midfielder under contract with the Delhi club from 2026-02-09 to 2028-06-30. The deal takes the 25-year-old out of the I-League after a brief spell and into India’s top tier, with his market value listed at €150k at the time of the switch. The fee has not been disclosed.
The transfer marks a rapid rise in status for both player and club. Rajasthan United, competing in the I-League, lose one of their central midfield anchors, while SC Delhi secure a player who has spent most of his senior career in Europe and the Middle East before arriving in India. Hudu arrives as a specialist in the defensive midfield role, expected to shield the back line and add ball-winning presence in the centre of the pitch.
Born on 19 March 2000, the 1.70 m right-footed midfielder has already amassed a varied CV despite his age. After starting his professional journey at Inter Allies FC in Ghana, he moved to Sweden with Hammarby IF, where his market value gradually climbed from €50k to €300k during loan spells at IK Frej Täby and a later move to GIF Sundsvall. His time in Scandinavia also took him to Danish side Lyngby Boldklub, giving him experience in both Swedish and Danish leagues before he switched to AFC Eskilstuna and then back to GIF Sundsvall.
A move to Jordanian club Al-Wehdat SC followed, with his valuation still hovering well into six figures, before he became a free agent and then joined Rajasthan United. That short stint in the I-League has now directly led to a step into the Indian Super League with SC Delhi, confirming his status as one of the more travelled Ghanaian midfielders of his generation.
Across these stops, Hudu’s value peaked at around €300k and has gradually adjusted down to €150k in recent updates, reflecting both his experience and the market around him. Even as his nominal value has dipped from its Scandinavian high, clubs have continued to see him as a reliable, relatively low-cost option to stabilise midfield. His latest move underlines that perception: SC Delhi are investing in a player whose profile has been built across multiple countries and competitions.
The transfer also continues a trend in his career of relatively short stays and regular moves. From Hammarby to loans at IK Frej Täby, then to GIF Sundsvall, Lyngby, AFC Eskilstuna, Al-Wehdat and now a second club in India, Hudu has rarely stood still for long. With his contract at SC Delhi running from 2026-02-09 to 2028-06-30, there is now a defined window in which he can either establish himself as a mainstay of their midfield or, at its conclusion, potentially move on again or even become a free agent, depending on how both parties view his development.
For SC Delhi, bringing in a Ghanaian defensive midfielder with sustained professional experience in Sweden, Denmark, Jordan and India is a statement of intent in terms of squad balance. For Hudu, the completed transfer is another confirmed step in a career that has already crossed continents, and the length of his new deal offers both stability and a clear horizon for his next decision once it runs its course.
