Marc Guehi says his first weeks at Manchester City have “been a dream,” as the England defender settles quickly into life at the Etihad under Pep Guardiola.
The centre-back, who arrived from Crystal Palace in January, highlighted how strongly the manager and staff have already influenced his development.
“Pep has improved my game massively,” Guehi explained, praising a coach who “believes in us a lot” and constantly demands detail in how City want to play. He said the environment is built around players “always improving and getting better,” with teammates and staff “obsessed” with pushing standards higher. That culture, he added, can only take his level to “new heights” if he continues to respond.
Guehi has gone straight into the starting XI, completing 90 minutes in both Premier League matches since his arrival and quickly becoming an important part of City’s back line.
On Sunday, he is expected to start again, this time at Anfield against Liverpool, the club he came close to joining last summer before that move collapsed on deadline day.
