Ahmed El Gafali returns to full Zamalek training ahead of ZED clash

Ahmed El Gafali has taken part in a full Zamalek team training session for the first time after completing his rehabilitation programme.

The Tunisia winger joined his team-mates during Tuesday’s workout at the secondary pitch of Air Defence Stadium, having previously followed an individual fitness plan.

Zamalek’s medical staff checked on the 22-year-old before he was allowed to return to group training and confirmed that he was ready to take part in the session.

The club are preparing for their next Egypt Capital Cup match against ZED. The fixture will be played on 7 October at Arab Contractors Stadium.

Zamalek are in Group A of the competition alongside Wadi Degla, ZED, Tala’ea El Gaish and Al Ittihad Al Sakandary.

El Gafali joined Zamalek from US Monastir before moving to Abha Saudi on loan. Since arriving at Zamalek, he has played in three matches, recording a total of 38 minutes.

He has not featured for the club this season because he was not considered technically ready.
