Innocent Nshuti has completed a permanent move from Tunisian side ES Zarzis to Libyan Premier League club Al Wefaq Ajdabiya in a deal worth €170k, with the Rwanda international centre-forward under contract from 2026-02-05 to 2028-06-30. The 28-year-old arrives in Libya carrying a current market valuation of €200k and will wear the number 19 shirt for his new club.
The transfer takes Nshuti out of Tunisia’s Ligue 1 and into Libya’s top flight, confirming another step in a career that has increasingly been defined by moves abroad rather than domestic football in Rwanda. Al Wefaq secure a player whose primary position is centre-forward, bolstering their attacking options with a striker who has accrued professional experience in Africa, Europe and North America.
Nshuti joins directly from ES Zarzis, where his form had pushed his market value up to €200k by late 2025. The agreed €170k fee therefore represents a significant investment by Al Wefaq, who are banking on his peak-age profile to deliver immediate returns in the Libyan Premier League. His switch is fully completed, with registration tied to the new contract that runs until 2028-06-30, after which he is scheduled to become a free agent unless he signs an extension.
Born in Musanze, Rwanda, on 31 Jan 1998, Nshuti’s career has followed a steadily upward trajectory. After emerging from APR FC Kigali in his homeland, he first left Rwanda for Tunisia with Stade Tunisien, before returning to APR and then embarking on a run of successive moves abroad. He joined One Knoxville SC in the United States, moved on to FK Sabail in Azerbaijan, and then transferred to ES Zarzis in Tunisia ahead of his latest step to Libya with Al Wefaq.
That journey has seen his market value climb from €25k at Stade Tunisien to €75k during his spell with One Knoxville SC, then €125k with FK Sabail and, most recently, €200k at ES Zarzis. The consistent rise underlines how his performances across different leagues have steadily improved his standing in the transfer market.
At Al Wefaq, Nshuti will be expected to lead the line in the Libyan Premier League and to translate his experience from Tunisia’s Ligue 1, the US system and the Azerbaijan league into goals and all-round attacking contribution. The move also reinforces his status as one of Rwanda’s more travelled footballers, again placing him in a foreign league rather than back in the domestic competition with APR FC Kigali.
With his prime years now tied to Al Wefaq between 2026-02-05 and 2028-06-30, the transfer has the potential to define the next phase of his career, shaping both his reputation in North African football and his longer-term prospects once his deal in Libya expires.
