Amal Tiznit add Morocco defender Tarik Asstati from SCC Mohammedia
Morocco right-back Tarik Asstati has joined Amal Tiznit from SCC Mohammedia on a free transfer, giving the Botola Pro Inwi club an experienced defender for the 2026-27 season.
Asstati, 35, completed the move on 21 August 2026 after one season with SCC Mohammedia. He becomes part of an Amal Tiznit squad competing in Morocco’s top-flight Botola Pro Inwi, having spent much of his career in the domestic game.
The Mohammedia-born defender has recorded 205 appearances in the Botola Pro Inwi, contributing seven goals and 14 assists. He has also played in the CAF Champions League, where he made eight appearances and supplied one assist, as well as featuring in the Coupe du Trone Marocaine and the Excellence Cup.
Asstati’s most recent spell began when he joined SCC Mohammedia from MAS Fes on 31 July 2025, also on a free transfer. He had spent the previous campaign at MAS Fes after leaving Hassania in August 2024, adding to a series of moves between Moroccan clubs without a transfer fee.
The right-footed full-back started his senior career with Mouloudia, joining from SCC Mohammedia in 2013. He later returned to the Mohammedia area with US Mohammedia before moving to Difaa El Jadida in 2015. His next change came in 2019, when he signed for Ittihad Tanger, where he remained until his move to MAS Fes in 2021.
At 1.75m, Asstati is primarily a right-back and arrives at Amal Tiznit with extensive experience of Moroccan club football. His record includes domestic league appearances across several teams, along with continental and cup involvement, giving him a career built around regular competition in the country.
The transfer continues a sequence of free moves for Asstati in recent seasons, following his switches to MAS Fes, SCC Mohammedia and now Amal Tiznit. No contract length has been announced for his latest club.
Asstati’s move from SCC Mohammedia to Amal Tiznit was completed on 21 August 2026.
