Moroccan-eligible striker Younes Ebnoutalib has made an immediate impact in the Bundesliga, signalling his potential for both club and country.

The 22-year-old Eintracht Frankfurt recruit recently shared a photo of his new boots adorned with the Moroccan flag, a symbolic gesture highlighting his connection to the North African nation.

Born in Frankfurt, Ebnoutalib holds dual nationality and previously represented Morocco at under-15 level in 2018, though he has yet to receive a senior call-up. The post has been widely interpreted as a subtle appeal to the Atlas Lions.

Ebnoutalib’s rise to the Bundesliga has been rapid. After making his mark this season with 2. Bundesliga side Elversberg, scoring 12 goals in 21 appearances, the striker returned to his hometown club during the winter transfer window.

His performances in Germany’s second tier prompted Eintracht Frankfurt to give him a chance at the highest level, providing a platform to showcase his talent on a bigger stage.

The striker made an immediate impression on his Bundesliga debut in January, scoring against Borussia Dortmund in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

However, his momentum was disrupted when he sustained an injury in the following match against VfB Stuttgart, temporarily halting his progress.

Frankfurt is currently navigating a period of instability, including a recent coaching change, adding further challenges to Ebnoutalib’s integration.

Standing at 1.91m, the striker combines physical strength with aerial ability, making him a versatile threat capable of unsettling defences and holding up play.

His profile fits the type of forward that Morocco may consider for the senior squad, particularly given the withdrawal of Hamza Igamane, who is out until the end of the season following a 2025 AFCON final injury.

This situation could create an opening ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

While Ebnoutalib must first recover from injury and cement his place at Frankfurt, his early Bundesliga impact, distinctive playing style, and symbolic nod to Morocco have already attracted attention.

The coming months could be pivotal in determining whether he can translate his potential into a permanent role at both club and international level.
