Alama Bayo: Right winger linked with Belgium move to KSC Lokeren

Alama Bayo has completed a loan move from Cercle Brugge to KSC Lokeren, joining the Challenger Pro League club on a temporary deal starting on 2026-02-02 and running until 2026-06-30. The 20-year-old right winger, who holds both Belgian and Guinean nationality, leaves the Jupiler Pro League side to secure regular first-team football in Belgium’s second tier while remaining under contract with Cercle Brugge.

The transfer is officially registered as a loan transfer, with no permanent fee disclosed in the available data. Bayo arrives at Lokeren with a current market value of €200k, reflecting a player still regarded as a notable prospect despite a recent downward adjustment from earlier peak valuations. At the end of the loan, he is scheduled to return to Cercle Brugge, opening the possibility that his parent club will reassess his role, extend his stay, or consider a permanent exit depending on his development and market situation.

Bayo’s move to Lokeren keeps him within Belgian football but shifts him from the Jupiler Pro League to the Challenger Pro League, a step that often offers young attackers more consistent minutes and responsibility. Officially listed as an attacking player whose main position is right winger and who prefers his right foot, he will be expected to add pace and directness to Lokeren’s forward line as the club competes in the country’s second division.

Born in Conakry and standing 1.81 m tall, Bayo has come through a succession of Belgian clubs and youth systems. His early development included a spell with Standard Liège Youth before a move to KAS Eupen Youth. He then progressed through the ranks at RFC Seraing, moving from RFC Seraing Youth to RFC Seraing U18 and subsequently into the senior side. In 2023 he stepped up from RFC Seraing U18 to RFC Seraing’s first team, and in 2024 he earned a transfer to Cercle Brugge, marking his arrival in the Jupiler Pro League environment.

That trajectory was mirrored in his market value. While at RFC Seraing, Bayo’s valuation climbed rapidly, rising from €100k to €300k and then to €400k as a teenager, before being later assessed at €300k and eventually €200k during his time with Cercle Brugge. The current loan to Lokeren comes at a point where consistent performances in the Challenger Pro League could be decisive for halting or reversing that decline.

Although he is tied to Lokeren only on a temporary basis, the fixed end date of 2026-06-30 means Bayo will re-enter the market landscape in the summer, when his situation at Cercle Brugge will be clarified. A strong half-season could attract interest from other clubs or strengthen his position at his parent side; a weaker spell could instead leave him closer to the margins and, longer term, increase the risk that he moves on again or edges toward free-agent territory if contracts are not extended.

For now, the confirmed loan gives Bayo a clear platform. With a defined window between 2026-02-02 and 2026-06-30 to impress in the Challenger Pro League, his performances for KSC Lokeren will play a significant role in shaping his next step, his standing within Belgian football, and how both Belgian and Guinean observers assess his long-term potential.
