RAAL La Louvière have moved to end speculation over Pape Moussa Fall’s future by making it clear the Senegalese striker will not be returning to FC Metz during the winter transfer window, despite growing interest from his parent club.
The Belgian side are determined to keep hold of their leading scorer after a prolific start to the season, shutting the door on any mid-season departure as they pursue their objectives for the current campaign. Fall, who is on loan from Metz, has quickly established himself as a key figure since arriving in Belgium and remains central to La Louvière’s plans.
The 20-year-old has enjoyed an exceptional run of form, scoring eight goals in eight matches across all competitions for RAAL La Louvière. His performances have played a decisive role in the club’s early-season momentum and have inevitably attracted attention beyond Belgium. In France, FC Metz have been closely monitoring his progress, with reports suggesting the Ligue 1 club explored the possibility of bringing him back earlier than planned to reinforce their attacking options.
According to L’Équipe, the idea of an early recall was discussed internally at Metz as the winter transfer window approached. The club reportedly viewed Fall’s strong displays as an opportunity to inject fresh attacking energy into their squad. However, those discussions have failed to progress, largely due to La Louvière’s firm stance.
Belgian media, including La Dernière Heure, report that RAAL La Louvière have no intention of weakening their squad midway through the season. The club is relying on the terms of the loan agreement, which guarantee Fall’s presence until the end of the campaign. That agreement leaves little room for manoeuvre and underlines La Louvière’s determination to maintain continuity as the season unfolds.
Fall remains under contract with FC Metz until 2029, but unless there is an unexpected change of circumstances, he will complete the season in Belgium. For La Louvière, retaining their top scorer is viewed as essential, both for stability on the pitch and for sustaining their ambitions in the months ahead.
While transfer speculation often intensifies as January approaches, this episode highlights the limits of mid-season movement when loan agreements are clearly defined. For now, Pape Moussa Fall’s immediate future appears settled, with his focus firmly on continuing his impressive form in a La Louvière shirt.
