The Congolese Football Federation Association (FECOFA) has commended referees Jean-Jacques Ndala, Guylain Ngila and Gradel Mbilizi for their exceptional performance at the 35th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025.
In an official message issued by the FECOFA Normalization Committee, the federation lauded the trio for their professionalism, integrity and composure throughout the tournament, describing their contribution as a source of pride for the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
According to the statement, the Congolese officials were entrusted with officiating several high-profile and highly competitive matches, including the AFCON 2025 final between hosts Morocco and Senegal, one of the most intense and closely scrutinised fixtures of the tournament.
FECOFA highlighted their rigorous match management, technical mastery and strong adherence to refereeing ethics, noting that their performances were unanimously praised within officiating and football circles despite the enormous pressure associated with such elite-level encounters.
The federation stressed that Ndala, Ngila and Mbilizi not only upheld the highest standards of officiating but also “honoured Congolese refereeing and defended the country’s colours with dignity” on the continental stage.
FECOFA further encouraged the trio to remain committed to excellence as they continue to represent the DRC in future international competitions under the auspices of CAF and FIFA.
The message expressed confidence that their AFCON 2025 performances would strengthen the reputation of Congolese referees and open doors for more elite assignments globally.
Concluding the message, FECOFA, on behalf of football fans nationwide, wished the referees an even more successful career marked by recognition and sustained excellence, reinforcing the DRC’s growing presence in African football officiating.
