Real Madrid target Oscar Naasei set for Castilla move from Granada CF

Real Madrid are close to completing the signing of Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei from Granada CF, with the 21-year-old expected to join the Spanish club in the near future.

The Madrid club plan to sign Naasei on a permanent deal before initially placing him with Castilla, their reserve team. The move would form part of a long-term strategy focused on developing the young defender and assessing his progress within the club’s structure.

Naasei is currently under contract with Granada CF until 2028 and is playing in the Spanish second division. His performances have attracted the attention of Real Madrid’s recruitment team, who have been monitoring him for several months.

According to Footy-Africa, Granada CF are seeking a fee of about €3m for the player. Negotiations between the two clubs are continuing and are understood to be progressing positively.

The proposed transfer could be completed as early as Tuesday, with the final discussions still taking place. A deal would allow Real Madrid to move ahead of a number of other interested clubs, including Rayo Vallecano.

Real Madrid had already tried to sign Naasei last season, but the two sides were unable to finalise the operation. The club have now increased their efforts to secure the Ghanaian’s signature and appear determined to complete a deal this time.

A move to Castilla would give Naasei an opportunity to continue his development while gradually adapting to the demands of football in Madrid. Real Madrid appear willing to take a patient approach with a defender who remains at an early stage of his career but has already impressed their scouts.

If an agreement with Granada CF is reached quickly, Naasei could become one of the latest promising additions to Real Madrid’s wider development project. The longer-term ambition would be for him to move closer to the first team after gaining experience with Castilla.

The potential signing comes shortly before Real Madrid begin their Spanish league campaign. Their opening match will be against Real Sociedad, with the fixture due to take place very soon.

Betting company 1xbet has listed Real Madrid as favourites for that match, offering odds of 1.34 for a home win. A draw is priced at 5.20, while a Real Sociedad victory is listed at 7.00.

For now, Naasei’s immediate future depends on the final negotiations between Real Madrid and Granada CF. Should the clubs settle on a fee, the Ghana international prospect is expected to begin his Madrid career with Castilla, rather than joining the senior squad straight away.
