The future of Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson remains uncertain, with his agent hinting that a move to Italy could be on the horizon if Bayern Munich decide against keeping him next season.
Jackson, who is currently representing Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations, has found himself at the centre of speculation after a challenging spell in Bavaria. On loan from Chelsea, the 23-year-old has struggled for regular starts under Vincent Kompany, largely due to competition from Harry Kane, widely regarded as one of the world’s leading forwards.
Despite flashes of promise, Jackson’s time in Germany has divided opinion. He has scored five goals in 18 appearances so far, but his performances have not been enough to secure a consistent role in Bayern’s starting line-up. A decision on his future is expected in the coming weeks.
Speaking about the situation, Jackson’s agent Ali Barat suggested that Serie A could be an appealing next step should Bayern opt not to pursue a permanent deal.
“Italian top clubs wanted him even before the Chelsea move, and last summer as well,” Barat said. “Nico only wanted Bayern, and we made it happen. One day playing in Italy? For sure he’s attracted by Italian football.”
Back at Stamford Bridge, Jackson’s path to regular football looks increasingly complicated. Chelsea have already agreed a deal to sign Strasbourg striker Emmanuel Emegha, with further attacking reinforcements expected in the summer.
With Senegal’s number nine focused on AFCON duties for now, interest continues to build behind the scenes. Several clubs in Italy are monitoring his situation closely, raising the prospect that Jackson could yet become one of the most talked-about names in the next Serie A transfer window.
