Teenage defender Karim Coulibaly is being linked with a move from Werder Bremen to Juventus, with the Bundesliga prospect reportedly attracting interest from the Serie A giants.

The 18-year-old centre-back, valued at €8.00m, is the subject of growing speculation in Germany and Italy, although the probability of any deal remains unclear, with no firm likelihood attached to the rumours. Coulibaly is currently under contract at Werder, but with no public details on its duration, observers have suggested a future free-transfer scenario cannot be ruled out if talks over his long-term situation stall.

Juventus are understood to be monitoring the left-footed defender as they continue to refresh an ageing back line and scout emerging talent across Europe. Coulibaly has risen quickly at Werder, stepping up from the club’s U19 side to the senior squad after joining from Hamburger SV’s youth system in 2024.

Born in Oldenburg on 23 May 2007, Coulibaly is eligible for both Germany and Côte d’Ivoire, a dual-national profile that adds to his appeal on the international stage. Standing at 1.91m, he is viewed primarily as a centre-back, offering height and physical presence in central defence.

His club pathway has taken him through several German youth setups, including HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst and Bramfelder SV, before his move into the Hamburger SV academy and subsequent switch to Werder Bremen’s youth ranks. That progression has been mirrored by a sharp rise in his market valuation, climbing from €1.00m in August 2025 to €8.00m by October 2025.

With Juventus tracking his development and Werder keen to protect the value of one of their most promising young players, Coulibaly’s next step could prove decisive in shaping his reputation and long-term trajectory at the top level if a move eventually materialises.
