Ivorian striker Ibrahim Diabaté at center of revised GAIS demands as Al Ahly adjusts transfer offers

GAIS changed its financial demands for Ibrahim Diabaté’s transfer to Al Ahly, creating a sudden shift in negotiations that once appeared close to completion after the striker reached a preliminary agreement with the Egyptian club.

The Swedish side increased its asking price for the Ivorian forward and altered the conditions of the deal.

GAIS initially valued Diabaté at 1.2 million dollars, but the club now seeks 2 million dollars and a ten percent sell-on clause attached to any future transfer.

The unexpected adjustment slowed talks and introduced fresh uncertainty into the process.

Al Ahly reacted quickly and presented two new proposals. The first offer sets the fee at 1.5 million dollars, with 750,000 dollars paid at the time of signing and the remaining balance delivered before the end of March.

The second proposal meets GAIS’s revised 2 million dollar demand but spreads the payment across three instalments: 500,000 dollars at signing, 500,000 dollars in March, and 1 million dollars in September 2026.

Both proposals remove the ten percent sell-on clause, a condition Al Ahly refuses to include.

The club wants to finalise the move while keeping the contract terms already agreed with the 26-year-old striker.

Diabaté accepted a four-and-a-half-year deal with Al Ahly, which includes a signing bonus of 900,000 dollars in the first season.

His salary will rise by 100,000 dollars each year and reach 1.2 million dollars in the final season of the contract.

Negotiations now depend on GAIS’s response to the restructured offers, as both clubs continue to seek an agreement that satisfies their financial priorities.
