Barcelona step up interest in Cameroonian striker Karl Etta Eyong

The head coach of Cameroon, Marc Brys, has heaped praise on talented forward Karl Etta Eyong, backing him amid interest from Barcelona.

According to him, the youngster currently linked with a move to FC Barcelona has the qualities to succeed at the Spanish La Liga club.

“There’s always room for a new player in the team if he has the right qualities. Look at Lamine Yamal: a year ago, nobody thought he’d be playing in the first team, and now he’s a key player. Etta has that potential too. He’s dangerous, unpredictable, and can surprise anyone. And that’s valuable for any top team,” said the Belgian coach.

Brys added, “He is a very good player. Very modest and humble, which is a gift. He’s not a selfish striker; he plays for the team. I like that: he works hard, draws attention to himself so that others can exploit the space. He played a game with us and did his job well, even if he didn’t score. He was an important addition to the squad. He has a good heart, is polite, and shows no negative attitude. That makes him special.”

Karl Etta Eyong currently plays for Levante in the Spanish La Liga. He has so far scored one goal and provided two assists after making three league appearances in the division.
