Mohamed Salah scored from the penalty spot as Trabzonspor opened the scoring against Hearts in the UEFA Conference League at Papara Park.
Trabzonspor were awarded a penalty after Frankelino, the home side’s forward, was brought down inside the area during the second-round match in the competition’s league phase. Salah took responsibility and sent his effort down the middle of the goal to give the Turkish side the lead.
The goal was Salah’s second in as many appearances in the UEFA Conference League. He had also scored in Trabzonspor’s opening match against Finnish club KuPS, which ended in a 4-2 victory for the Turkish side.
It was also Salah’s 10th goal for Trabzonspor since joining the club at the start of the season. He has reached that total in 12 appearances.
