Manchester United target German-Nigerian goalkeeper Noah Atubolu
Manchester United are reportedly keeping tabs on German goalkeeper of Nigerian descent, Noah Atubolu.
The 23-year-old has become a key figure for Freiburg in recent months, earning admiration from top European clubs, with Manchester United now emerging as one of his most serious suitors.
According to TBR Football, the Red Devils have “had Atubolu observed several times” and are “highly impressed” by his performances.
Reports suggest that United are planning a long-term restructuring of their goalkeeping department. TBR expert Graeme Bailey noted that even with the arrival of Senne Lammens, the club still wants another top-quality goalkeeper.
Atubolu’s rise has also caught the attention of other Premier League sides, including Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Brighton & Hove Albion, all of whom have reportedly scouted him this season.
The Freiburg-born shot-stopper is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2027. However, if he chooses not to extend his deal, Freiburg could be forced to consider a sale by the summer of 2026 to secure a substantial transfer fee.
