Real Madrid have secured Arda Guler’s future by agreeing a new contract that will keep the Turkey international at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2032.
The final agreement was approved in September and all the paperwork has now been signed, according to respected European transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano. The only remaining step is for Real Madrid to make the deal official, with the announcement expected to take place in the presidential box at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Romano posted on social media: “Arda Guler has signed his contract at Real Madrid valid for the next five years from January, until June 2032. The agreement was reached in September and it’s closed now, also documents are signed and sealed. Up next: club announcement.”
The renewal represents a major commitment to the 21-year-old, whose first season in Spain was disrupted by three separate injuries. Under Carlo Ancelotti, Guler played only 440 minutes across 12 matches during that campaign.
His development accelerated dramatically last season, which proved to be a decisive turning point in his career. The Turkey midfielder appeared in 51 matches, scoring six goals and providing 14 assists. He was also named the best young player in the UEFA Champions League.
Those performances established Guler as an important member of Real Madrid’s strongest side and strengthened the club’s belief that he can become a central figure in its future plans.
This season, he has become an influential presence in a midfield that has at times lacked structure. Guler has impressed with his ability to organise play, create chances and make runs into the penalty area.
He has also developed an effective attacking partnership with Kylian Mbappe, while showing a strong understanding with Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior.
The new contract is described as a six-year extension and would see Guler spend at least nine years with Real Madrid, having joined the club at the age of 18 and remaining until he is 27.
The agreement underlines the importance Real Madrid place on the Turkey international as part of their next generation. The club regard Guler as one of the defining talents of their new project, with his long-term future now secured before the upcoming El Clasico.
