'I want to entertain' – Ghana's Mohammed Kudus promises Spurs fans after £55m move

Mohammed Kudus has vowed to bring flair and excitement to Tottenham Hotspur following his £55 million switch from West Ham United, assuring supporters that his arrival will be marked by creativity, energy, and a desire to thrill on the pitch.

The Ghana international, who joins Spurs after just one season with the Hammers, says he is eager to embrace the club’s vision under manager Ange Postecoglou and hopes to be a key figure in both domestic and European campaigns.

“It feels great to be here, I’m very happy and can’t wait to start,” Kudus said. “I’m a very direct winger, strong, very good in taking players on and creating chances, so there is a lot of flair in my game.”

Known for his explosive style and technical ability, Kudus emphasised that entertaining fans remains central to his footballing philosophy.

“I like to entertain the fans as well. That’s what football is about – it’s putting a memory in the heads of the fans that they have when they go back home, and after the money they’ve spent to buy a ticket.”

Kudus was also drawn to the club by Postecoglou’s coaching record. “With the history of where he’s come from, I’ve seen the amount of talent he’s developed to become great players. It’s a big sign of why I wanted to work under him as well,” he said.

As Spurs return to the UEFA Champions League this season, the 24-year-old says he is ready for the challenge.

“I know how big the club is, the history and I’ve always wanted to play at the highest level in the Champions League as well, so it’s a big moment for me.”

Kudus added that his priority is team success: “My personal goals are around helping the team get as many points as we can… and go as far as we can in the Champions League.”
