Aston Villa are preparing a summer bid for FC Porto forward Samu Omorodion, as they seek to reinforce their attacking options following Jhon Durán’s departure to Saudi Arabia.
The 20-year-old Spaniard has been in outstanding form this season, netting 18 goals in 26 appearances across all competitions.
His performances have not only made him a key player for Porto but also earned him his first international cap for Spain’s national team in November.
Omorodion, who recently committed his international future to Spain despite being eligible for Nigeria, is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League, a competition well-suited to his physicality and speed.
Porto eyeing significant profit
Porto are aware of the growing interest in their striker, and a transfer this summer could provide a substantial financial boost.
Having signed Omorodion for €15 million, the Portuguese giants are expected to demand a significantly higher fee should they agree to sell.
Villa are not the only club monitoring his situation, with several other Premier League sides keeping a close eye on his development.
Meanwhile, Atlético Madrid, his former club, would benefit from any future transfer due to a sell-on clause in his contract.
With Villa looking to strengthen their squad, Omorodion has emerged as a prime target for Unai Emery’s side, but they may face competition for his signature when the transfer window opens.
