Hamse Shagaxle leaves Spezia after brief spell in Italy

Sweden-Somalia midfielder Hamse Shagaxle has left Spezia Calcio and become a free agent after a brief spell with the Italian club.

The 21-year-old central midfielder’s departure was recorded on 1 September 2026, ending his time with Spezia less than seven months after he joined the Serie C side. No transfer fee was recorded for the move.

Shagaxle made one competitive appearance for Spezia during the 2026-27 campaign, featuring in the Coppa Italia Serie C. He played eight minutes and did not score or provide an assist.

He did not appear in Spezia’s opening two Serie C – Girone B fixtures of the season. His final recorded appearance for the club came in the cup competition, where he was used from the bench.

Born in Orebro, Sweden, Shagaxle is eligible to represent both Sweden and Somalia. He began his senior career with BK Forward before moving to Orebro SK in July 2023.

The midfielder subsequently spent part of the 2025-26 season on loan at Orebro Syr., returning to Orebro SK in November 2025. He left that club in January 2026 before joining Spezia the following month.

Shagaxle has been valued at €150,000, having previously reached a reported market value of €175,000. He is left-footed and stands 1.94m tall.

His departure leaves him without a club as he begins the next stage of his career after an Italian spell that produced limited first-team minutes. Shagaxle’s recorded move away from Spezia was completed on 1 September 2026.
