A source close to Wydad Athletic Club has denied reports of ongoing negotiations to bring back Ayman Al-Hassouni, the former club standout, during the upcoming winter transfer window.
Speculation had suggested that Wydad intended to re-sign Al-Hassouni, who will reportedly be available as a free agent at that time.
However, the source clarified to Kooora that no discussions have taken place.
The source dismissed the claims, emphasizing that rumors regarding Al-Hassouni also extended to other ex-Wydad players, including Yahya Jabrane and Ayoub Amloud, both of whom left the club and are currently facing challenges with their respective teams.
“These are merely speculations based on the circumstances of these players.
There is no truth to them,” the source stated, stressing that, while Al-Hassouni’s connection to Wydad is well-known, head coach Mokoena has not initiated any negotiations with him or any former players.
“Mokoena is currently focused on securing a strong position in the first stage of the league.
After this, he will prepare a detailed report on the squad and any potential needs for improvement,” the source added, underscoring that transfer decisions will hinge on the coach’s evaluations.
The source concluded by noting, “The doors of Wydad remain open to our former players who left a positive mark, and Al-Hassouni is among them.
However, the ultimate authority lies with the coach.”
