Youssef Ezzejjari has completed a move to East Bengal FC from Singapore side Tanjong Pagar United on a free transfer, signing a contract running from 2026-02-01 to 2027-05-31. The 32-year-old centre-forward, who holds both Spanish and Moroccan nationality, arrives in Kolkata with a current market valuation of €200k and becomes the latest attacking addition for the Indian Super League club.

The deal sees East Bengal pick up an experienced goalscorer without a transfer fee, after his stint in the Singapore Premier League with Tanjong Pagar. The move also continues Ezzejjari’s long spell abroad, adding India to a career that has already taken him through Spain, Andorra, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia and Singapore. By joining East Bengal, the striker is now tied to one of Indian football’s most historic institutions as he prepares to compete in the Indian Super League.

Ezzejjari, born in Santa Coloma de Gramanet on 10 May 1993 and standing 1.85 m tall, is primarily a centre-forward and prefers his right foot. His arrival gives East Bengal a physically robust focal point in attack, with significant experience across multiple Asian leagues. The transfer was formalised after his time at Tanjong Pagar United, where his contract situation allowed him to move on a free rather than command a fee, despite his €200k market value.

The forward’s career has been marked by frequent moves and steady value in the transfer market. After starting out in Spain with AEC Manlleu, Nike Academy, Terrassa FC, UE Vilassar de Mar, Escola Esportiva Guineueta and SD Oyonesa, he moved to Andorra’s Club Esportiu Carroi. From there he embarked on a succession of Asian spells: Persik Kediri, Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC and PS Barito Putera in Indonesia, Khon Kaen United in Thailand, Negeri Sembilan FC in Malaysia, Visakha FC in Cambodia, and most recently Tanjong Pagar United in Singapore.

His market value peaked at €350k during his time with Bhayangkara Presisi Lampung FC and Khon Kaen United, before gradually settling at €200k at Tanjong Pagar United. That trajectory underlines a seasoned forward still considered a useful asset in competitive leagues across Asia. The pattern of his moves also shows a player comfortable adapting to new cultures, styles of play and tactical demands, something that should ease his transition into the Indian Super League.

For East Bengal, the acquisition adds depth and experience to their attacking unit and brings in a player accustomed to being a central reference point up front. For Ezzejjari, the contract with the Kolkata club extends his professional journey abroad and offers a fresh platform in India to sustain his career at the top level, with the opportunity to influence both results on the pitch and his standing in the Asian football market over the length of his deal.
