Simba SC linked with move for South African winger Keletso Makgalwa from Sekhukhune
South African left winger Keletso Makgalwa of Sekhukhune is being linked with a move to Tanzanian giants Simba SC, with the 29-year-olds situation attracting attention after a sharp rise in his market value to 1.20m.
The Betway Premiership attacker, who plays primarily on the left but is right-footed, has no confirmed contract expiry date at Sekhukhune United FC, raising the prospect that he could yet be available as a free agent if talks over his future do not progress. The latest rumour, dated 5 July 2026, lists the probability of a transfer as unclear (?), underlining that discussions remain at an early, speculative stage.
Makgalwa joined Sekhukhune from Upington City FC on 7 July 2024 after rebuilding his career in the second tier, having previously spent a short spell as a free agent following his release from Mamelodi Sundowns on 29 September 2023. That period without a club was followed by a move to Upington City in October 2023, where his performances earned a route back to the Premiership.
Since arriving at Sekhukhune, the Mokopane-born winger has seen his valuation climb steeply on Transfermarkt. From 250,000 in January 2025, his value jumped to 600,000 in May 2025, then 1m in December 2025 and 1.20m by 5 June 2026, reflecting his impact in South Africas top flight.
The 1.70m wide player, born on 3 January 1997, has extensive domestic experience, having come through Mamelodi Sundowns reserves before spells often on loan with Durban City, Moroka Swallows, TS Galaxy and All Stars. He subsequently dropped down to Upington City before returning to prominence with Sekhukhune in the DStv Premiership.
With Simba looking to strengthen their attacking options and Makgalwas contractual status not publicly defined, a potential deal whether for a fee or, in future, as a free agent would mark another twist in a career that has already moved through several South African clubs and could now expand onto the East African stage if the mooted transfer materialises.
