Derthona bring in Moroccan-Italian attacker Marwen Gazoul from FC Solduno

Moroccan-Italian forward Marwen Gazoul has joined Derthona from FC Solduno on a free transfer, becoming the Serie D club’s latest attacking addition.

The 22-year-old second striker completed the move on 21 August 2026 and has signed a contract with Derthona running until 30 June 2027. Gazoul is predominantly right-footed and arrives after spending the previous season with FC Solduno.

Gazoul made 22 appearances in Serie C – B before moving to Switzerland, having previously played for Asti. He joined Asti from Alessandria in November 2024, also on a free transfer, and had been part of the Alessandria set-up since progressing from the club’s Under-19 side.

Across two Serie C divisions, Gazoul made 54 appearances and scored five goals. He recorded four goals in 32 appearances in Serie C – A and one goal in 22 matches in Serie C – B. His playing record also includes appearances in Serie D, the Coppa Serie C and youth competitions.

At Alessandria, Gazoul featured in both senior and youth football. He made seven appearances in Primavera 2, scoring twice and providing one assist, while also scoring once in two Coppa Primavera matches.

His move to Derthona is the latest in a run of free transfers during his senior career. Gazoul joined FC Solduno from Asti on 29 July 2025, after arriving at Asti from Alessandria the previous November. Before that, he had moved into Alessandria’s senior squad from the club’s Under-19 team in September 2022.

Derthona compete in Serie D – A, while FC Solduno’s transfer record does not list a league competition for the move. Gazoul’s arrival gives the Italian club a forward who has experience across Serie C and Serie D, as well as youth football.

Gazoul, born on 17 May 2004, holds Moroccan and Italian nationality and will remain with Derthona until the end of June 2027.
