Lexington SC sign Uganda-Canada midfielder Noble Okello from Indy Eleven

Uganda-Canada midfielder Noble Okello has joined Lexington SC from Indy Eleven, completing a move between two USL Championship clubs.

The 26-year-old central midfielder joined Lexington on 21 August 2026 and has a contract running until 30 November. He leaves Indy Eleven after spending the opening part of the 2026 campaign with the club.

Okello made 16 appearances in the USL Championship for Indy Eleven during the season, scoring once. He also featured in three USL Cup matches and twice in the US Open Cup, scoring in Lexington’s domestic cup competition before the switch.

The move gives Lexington a midfielder with experience across several clubs in the United States and Canada, as well as a spell in Europe. Okello joined Indy Eleven from Phoenix Rising in January 2026 on a free transfer, having previously spent the 2025 season with Phoenix after leaving Atlanta United 2.

His earlier career included time with Toronto and Toronto FC II, where he progressed after beginning with the TFC Academy. He also played in Denmark for HB Koge during the 2020-21 season, joining the club from Toronto on loan before returning to Canada.

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Okello represents both Ugandan and Canadian footballing backgrounds. He stands at 1.95m and prefers his right foot, with central midfield listed as his primary position.

Okello arrives at Lexington with 21 appearances across the USL Championship, USL Cup and US Open Cup in 2026, recording two goals in total. His league record includes 78% of possible starts and 1,058 minutes played, while his two US Open Cup appearances produced one goal.

The midfielder’s move continues a career that has included loans, free transfers and progression through Toronto’s system before a series of moves across the American game. His switch to Lexington is the latest change after less than a full season at Indy Eleven.

Noble Okello has completed his move from Indy Eleven to Lexington SC, with his new contract lasting until 30 November 2026.
