Marwan Attia extends Al Ahly contract through to 2030

Al Ahly midfielder Marwan Attia has signed a contract extension that will keep him at the Egyptian club until 2030.

The 28-year-old’s new agreement was announced by Al Ahly, just 24 hours after the club confirmed that fellow midfielder Emam Ashour had also extended his contract until 2030.

Attia completed the renewal during an evening meeting with Essam Serageldin, head of Al Ahly’s contracts sector. The club said all administrative and financial procedures had been finalised in full coordination with football director Wael Gomaa.

The extension represents a further commitment from Al Ahly to a player who has become part of the club’s first-team squad since arriving in the summer of 2023. Attia joined from Al Ittihad Al Sakandary and agreed a previous contract renewal in January 2025.

That means this is the second time the midfielder has extended his deal since moving to Al Ahly.

The club said Attia was delighted to continue his career with Al Ahly and remain with the club’s supporters for the years ahead. No further details of the financial terms of the agreement were disclosed.

Attia scored Al Ahly’s first goal of the current season with a powerful strike against Eastern Company. His effort helped his side secure a 3-2 victory over ENPPI.

In total, Attia has made 153 appearances for Al Ahly in all competitions. He has scored four goals and provided four assists during his time with the club.

The midfielder has also won 12 trophies in an Al Ahly shirt, adding to the importance of his continued presence within the squad.

His renewal follows the decision to retain Ashour on a long-term deal, with both midfielders now committed to Al Ahly until 2030. The back-to-back announcements underline the club’s intention to secure key members of its squad for the coming years.

Attia’s latest agreement ensures that his association with Al Ahly will continue well beyond the remainder of the current season. Since joining from Al Ittihad Al Sakandary, he has remained part of the first-team group and has contributed both goals and assists across his 153 appearances.

The club’s statement focused on the completion of the contractual process and the player’s satisfaction at extending his stay. Attia will now continue his career with Al Ahly, where he has won 12 titles and is set to remain under contract until 2030.
