Abdellah Ouazane shines again as Ajax beat Sparta Rotterdam

Abdellah Ouazane continued his impressive run of form by scoring a superb goal as Ajax defeated Sparta Rotterdam 2-1 in the Eredivisie on Sunday, 25 October.

The 17-year-old Morocco international, who had already attracted attention with his performance in the UEFA Conference League last Thursday, opened the scoring in the 22nd minute during the 10th round of the season.

Ajax doubled their advantage in first-half injury time when Tolu Arokodare made it 2-0 in the 45th minute. Sparta Rotterdam pulled a goal back after the interval, but the Amsterdam club held on to secure victory.

The result keeps Ajax in contention with Feyenoord near the top of the Eredivisie standings.

Ouazane’s goal was the standout moment of the match. Following a one-two with a team-mate, the attacking midfielder created space before sending a precise finish into the goalkeeper’s top-left corner.

It was another high-quality goal from a player who has made a strong impression in recent weeks. His previous notable strike came against Atalanta, when he eliminated several opponents inside the penalty area before finishing powerfully.

The latest performance adds to growing interest in Ouazane’s development as one of European football’s young players to watch. The Morocco international is valued at 8 million euros by Transfermarkt and remains under contract with Ajax until June 2028.

His recent displays have increased expectations around his future, as he continues his development at the Dutch club.
