Karim Adeyemi posts emotional farewell to Borussia Dortmund after completing Barcelona move

Karim Adeyemi has bid an emotional farewell to Borussia Dortmund and their supporters in a video message, just hours after his transfer to Barcelona was officially confirmed.

Barcelona announced on Thursday that the Germany international winger has signed a contract at Camp Nou running until June 2031 after agreeing a move from the Bundesliga club.

Following his unveiling and first press conference as a Barcelona player, Adeyemi shared a video across his official social media accounts, reflecting on his time in Dortmund and highlighting some of his standout moments in the black and yellow shirt.

In the message, the 22-year-old said: “Four years I will never forget.. thank you to my team-mates, to the club, and to the fans for the great feelings, memories and support.. black and yellow forever.”

Adeyemi departs Signal Iduna Park – and the club often dubbed the “Schwarzgelben” and “Asuf den BVB” by their fanbase – after four seasons in which he became a regular feature in attack. During that period, he made 146 appearances in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 36 goals and providing 22 assists.

His move to Barcelona will reunite him with head coach Hansi Flick. It was Flick, during his spell in charge of the Germany national team, who handed Adeyemi his senior international debut for Die Mannschaft, helping launch the forward onto the international stage.

The transfer marks a significant career step for Adeyemi, who now joins a Barcelona side looking to strengthen their attacking options under Flick’s leadership, while drawing a line under a productive spell in the Bundesliga that he described as unforgettable.
