Dani Carvajal makes Getafe debut in draw with Rayo Vallecano

Dani Carvajal made his first appearance for Getafe as they drew 1-1 with Rayo Vallecano in the Spanish league.

The match was played at the Coliseum, with both sides sharing the points in the ninth round of the competition.

Carvajal was named in Getafe’s starting line-up before being substituted in the 80th minute. It was his first match for the club since joining on a free transfer in recent days.

The defender left Real Madrid at the end of last season before completing his move to Getafe.

Rayo Vallecano took the lead after 11 minutes when Alvaro Garcia found the net.

Getafe were reduced to 10 players in the 28th minute when Djene Dakonam was sent off for a strong challenge on a Rayo Vallecano player.

Despite playing with a numerical disadvantage, Getafe levelled through Martin Satriano in the 56th minute.

The point moved Rayo Vallecano to nine points and 13th place in the table. Getafe also have nine points but sit 14th, behind their opponents on goal difference.
