Gedson Fernandes is being linked with a return to Galatasaray, with the Spartak Moscow midfielder reportedly a 35% possibility to move back to Istanbul according to the latest transfer listings.

The 26-year-old central midfielder only joined Spartak Moscow from Beşiktaş, but speculation has already emerged over another switch, this time back to the Turkish Süper Lig, where Galatasaray are said to be monitoring his situation. The Russia Premier Liga side currently list his market value at around €20.00m, a figure likely to be central to any negotiations between the clubs.

Data shows no contract expiry date for Fernandes at Spartak, leaving open the possibility that his situation could eventually develop towards a free‑agent scenario if no agreement is reached, though there is no indication yet that this is imminent. For now, the move remains at rumour stage, with the suggested 35% probability underlining that talks, if any, are still at an early phase.

Fernandes, born on 9 January 1999 in São Tomé and holding nationalities for both Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe, has already built a notably itinerant career. Progressing through Benfica’s youth ranks, he moved from SL Benfica B to the first team before loans to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and Galatasaray and Çaykur Rizespor in Türkiye, followed by a permanent transfer to Beşiktaş and then on to Spartak Moscow.

His value has fluctuated significantly over the years, rising as high as €22m during his breakthrough at Benfica and climbing again to €20.00m after his move to Spartak. Primarily a central midfielder and right‑footed, he has operated in some of Europe’s more demanding leagues, experience that would appeal to a Galatasaray side regularly competing for the Süper Lig title.

If a deal were eventually to materialise, a second spell in Istanbul could offer Fernandes the platform to reassert himself in European competition and shape the next decisive chapter of his career.
