Parma forward El Bilal Toure had valuables worth more than €500,000, including expensive watches, stolen from his home during a match last week.
Italian broadcaster Mediaset reports that police have opened an investigation and currently believe a professional gang may have been responsible.
The burglary took place while the 25-year-old was playing for Parma against Atalanta. Toure is known for his interest in luxury watches, several of which were among the items taken.
Toure has made 12 appearances for Parma this season, providing three assists without scoring. He joined the club on loan from Atalanta last summer in a deal worth €1.5m.
Across his career in Serie A, Toure has played 21 league matches, scoring twice and creating three goals.
