Gabriel Martinelli set to return for Al Hilal after international break

Al Hilal are expected to have Gabriel Martinelli back in training when the Saudi club resume preparations on 14 November following the international break.

The Brazilian winger is progressing well through his rehabilitation programme and is on course to rejoin his team-mates for full squad training, according to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya.

Al Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi granted all of his players a 10-day holiday, with the squad due to return to training ahead of the forthcoming Saudi league fixtures.

Martinelli suffered a muscular injury during Al Hilal’s match against Al Qadsiah in the 11th round of the Saudi league.

The injury ruled him out of Al Hilal’s matches against Qatar’s Al Shamal and United Arab Emirates side Shabab Al Ahli in the AFC Champions League Elite, as well as their Saudi league meeting with Al Fateh.

The 24-year-old is in his first season with Al Hilal after joining from English club Arsenal. He has made eight appearances for the Saudi side and scored six goals.
