Ceramica Cleopatra have completed the signing of Fawzi El-Hanawy from Haras El Hodoud, with the midfielder agreeing a three-season contract at the club.

The move had previously been reported by FilGoal.com, which revealed that El-Hanawy had signed an agreement tying him to Ceramica Cleopatra for the next three campaigns. The club have now confirmed the transfer as they continue preparations for the new season.

El-Hanawy has already joined Ceramica Cleopatra’s training camp ahead of the start of the campaign. His arrival gives the club another option as they build their squad following a strong finish in last season’s league competition.

The 24-year-old spent his previous spell with Haras El Hodoud, making 55 appearances for the club. During that period, he scored two goals and provided 12 assists.

Ceramica Cleopatra finished last season fourth in the stage used to determine the Egyptian champion, collecting 44 points. Their position has set the platform for a new campaign in which they will begin with a first-round meeting against Canal.

That opening match is scheduled for Sunday, 23 August, when Ceramica Cleopatra will face Canal in their first Egyptian Premier League fixture of the new season.

El-Hanawy’s arrival comes as Ceramica Cleopatra prepare for that opener and look to strengthen the squad after their fourth-place finish. The club’s public confirmation follows the completion of the agreement earlier reported by FilGoal.com, while the player has already linked up with his new team at their pre-season camp.

His record at Haras El Hodoud includes 55 matches, two goals and 12 assists, figures that will now form the basis of expectations around his contribution at Ceramica Cleopatra. The new signing has committed to the club for three seasons, giving him a long-term opportunity to establish himself within the squad.

Ceramica Cleopatra will therefore enter the new season with El-Hanawy among their additions and with Canal as their first opponents. Their campaign begins on 23 August, following last season’s fourth-place finish and a total of 44 points in the championship-deciding stage.
