Moghreb Athletic Tetouan have insisted that all outstanding financial dues owed to their players and staff have been paid, following a statement from the National Professional Football League concerning the club’s social obligations.
In a clarifying statement, the club’s board of directors said it had already responded to the league on October 8, submitting 19 bank transfer documents as evidence that the payments had been completed.
The board said the statement was intended to clarify the club’s administrative and financial position and prevent any misunderstanding.
Club explains social security situation
Addressing concerns over contributions to Morocco’s National Social Security Fund (CNSS), Moghreb Tetouan explained that the issue was linked to the legal and administrative status of the club’s sports company.
According to the board, the company’s operations have been suspended since July 2023, following the resignation of former president Redouane El Ghazi. The situation was also highlighted during the club’s most recent general assembly.
The current management said it had begun the necessary administrative and legal procedures to restructure the company and restore its operations.
Accountant appointed to resolve outstanding obligations
As part of the process, the board has appointed a certified accountant to oversee the company’s reactivation and address outstanding social security liabilities in accordance with the law.
Moghreb Tetouan described resolving the matter as one of its main priorities, stressing its commitment to finding a practical and legally compliant solution that protects the club and the rights of all parties involved.
The board also reaffirmed its commitment to transparent and responsible management, adding that it was ready to cooperate with the National Professional Football League and the relevant authorities to meet all administrative and social obligations.
The club said these efforts were necessary to safeguard its reputation and credibility.
