Manchester United linked with Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta
Jean-Philippe Mateta, the France and DR Congo-qualified Crystal Palace forward, is being linked with a move to Premier League rivals Manchester United.
The 29-year-old centre-forward has a contract at Selhurst Park until 30 June 2027 and is valued at €30m. The rumour comes after a campaign in which Mateta has made three Premier League appearances, playing 154 minutes, while also scoring once in one Europa League appearance.
Mateta joined Palace permanently from Mainz in January 2022 for a reported €11m after initially arriving on loan. He has since been part of the side that won the FA Cup in 2025 and the Conference League in the 2025-26 season.
His current involvement has been limited this term, with Mateta starting 25% of Palace’s league matches and playing 21% of the available Premier League minutes. He has also appeared three times at the 2026 World Cup, although he has not scored in those matches.
Manchester United and Palace are both competing in the Premier League, meaning any move would be a domestic transfer. There is no indication that an agreement has been reached, while Mateta remains under contract with Palace and has continued to feature for the club this season.
