Brian Fok completes move to Ban after career break

Hong Kong and Nigeria defender Brian Fok has joined Ban from a career break in a completed free transfer dated 7 July 2026. The 32-year-old centre-back, who most recently played for Happy Valley in Hong Kong, arrives at Ban without a transfer fee being recorded.

Fok, a 1.91m right-footed central defender, returns to competitive football after leaving Happy Valley for a career break in July 2023. His move continues a career that has taken him across multiple continents, including spells in Asia, Europe and South America.

Before his hiatus, Fok represented Hong Kong Football Club and Happy Valley in the Hong Kong system, having re-established his market value there after earlier periods without a club. At Hong Kong Football Club he reached a listed value of 75,000 in October 2021, a notable rise from the zero valuation recorded during a previous career break in late 2020.

Earlier in his career, Fok was contracted to Shanghai Shenhua and their reserve side, during which time he was sent on several loans. Those included stints in Romania with ACS Berceni, Azerbaijan with AZAL PFK Baku, Spain with CF Cracks, Portugal with Academico Viseu and Uruguay with CA Juventud, giving him experience in a range of footballing environments.

Foks market value fluctuated over the years, generally remaining around 25,000 during his time in Europe and China before dropping to zero during breaks in his career, then recovering in Hong Kong. His last recorded valuation, at Happy Valley in May 2023, returned to zero ahead of his departure from the club.

Born in Kaduna in 1994 and holding Hong Kong and Nigerian nationality, Fok now resumes his career at Ban after a series of moves that have combined domestic Hong Kong football with extensive spells abroad.
