Aly-Enzo Hamon has completed a move from Angoulême CFC to Voltigeurs de Châteaubriant on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs from 2026-02-01 to 2026-06-30. The 22-year-old left-back, who holds Rwandan and French nationality, joins the National 2 – Group A side with a current market value listed at €50k.
Both clubs compete in the same division of French football, meaning Hamon will remain in National 2 – Group A but change dressing rooms as he continues his senior career. The deal sees Angoulême CFC lose a player without a transfer fee, creating the possibility that the club will need to reshape its defensive options, while Châteaubriant strengthen their left side with a specialist defender whose preferred foot is his left.
Hamon’s move keeps him in France rather than in his country of origin, with his pathway continuing through the French system instead of returning to Rwanda. Born in Montereau-Fault-Yonne and standing 1.70m tall, he has been developed almost entirely within European structures, progressing from youth level into senior football across France and Switzerland. His main position is at left-back, and he has been registered in recent seasons as a defender in that role.
Before this latest switch, Hamon had joined Angoulême Charente FC from US Sainte-Anne de Vertou, again within the French pyramid. His time at Angoulême followed a spell abroad with FC Basel 1893 U21 in Switzerland, where he gained experience in a different footballing culture and environment. Earlier in his development, he moved through the ranks at EA Guingamp, stepping up successively from the U17 side to U19 and then the B team, after leaving US Jeanne d’Arc Carquefou at youth level.
The confirmed free transfer to Châteaubriant means Hamon will now seek to translate that varied youth and early senior experience into greater continuity and impact at National 2 level. With his current market value set at €50k as of the latest assessment, the deal represents a low-risk acquisition for Châteaubriant and an opportunity for the defender to consolidate his status in a competitive semi-professional environment.
Given his age and dual Rwandan-French nationality, the move could also have medium-term implications for his international profile, as continued exposure in the French system may keep pathways open at both domestic and international level. If he settles quickly and performs consistently in National 2 – Group A, this transfer could mark a stepping stone towards higher divisions in France or another move abroad later in his career.
