Abdoulaye Diedhiou: Senegal defender joins Hafia FC on free transfer
Senegal centre-back Abdoulaye Diedhiou has joined Guinean side Hafia FC on a free transfer after a spell without a club. The 26-year-old has signed a deal running until June 2028 following his arrival on 16 July 2026.
Diedhiou, a left-footed defender standing at 1.80m, had been unattached since leaving TP Mazembe earlier in the 2025-26 season. His move to Hafia FC ends that break from club football and adds continental experience to the Guinean outfit’s back line.
The centre-back arrives with a strong record from West and Central Africa. He previously played in Senegal for Casa Sports and ASC Jaraaf de Dakar before joining Congolese giants TP Mazembe in October 2025. During his time in Senegal, he helped Casa Sports secure back-to-back national cup triumphs and later lifted the league title with both Casa Sports and Jaraaf.
Diedhiou has also featured regularly in African club competitions, making appearances in both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, where he has completed multiple full matches at continental level. That experience is likely to be a key asset for Hafia as they look to compete beyond their domestic league.
At international level, Diedhiou was part of the Senegal squad that won the African Nations Championship in the 2022-23 campaign, further underlining his pedigree in African competition. His switch to Hafia FC is his first move into Guinean football and ties him to the club for the next two seasons.
