Al-Ahli v Al-Nassr Saudi Pro League classic set for November date

The Saudi Pro League is preparing to bring forward the postponed meeting between Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr, with the fixture expected to be played on Friday, 20 November 2026, rather than 6 March 2027.

The match, part of the ninth round of the Roshn Saudi League, was originally scheduled for 15 October at Alinma Stadium at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah. It was then postponed as part of changes to the competition’s fixture list and moved to 6 March 2027.

The Saudi Pro League’s decision to reconsider the date follows the Asian Football Confederation’s postponement of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup by almost 11 months. That change has led to a wider review of domestic and continental schedules and created an opportunity to rearrange several Roshn Saudi League matches.

According to Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiya, the league has identified 20 November as the new date for the Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr encounter. The proposal is still awaiting an official announcement and formal approval before it is added to the competition schedule.

The fixture is one of several matches affected by the latest alterations to the calendar. Al-Riyadiya also reported that Riyadh’s game against Al-Hilal and Al-Ittihad’s meeting with Al-Shabab, both from the ninth round, have been scheduled for 21 December.

The revised dates are linked to a change announced by the Asian Football Confederation concerning the 2027 AFC Asian Cup. The tournament will now take place from 23 December 2027 to 21 January 2028, replacing the previous dates of 7 January to 5 February in the same year.

That adjustment required the relevant authorities to reassess the timetables for domestic and continental competitions, with a number of Roshn Saudi League fixtures subsequently being considered for rearrangement.

The fixture listings for 20 November 2026 also show Al-Nassr scheduled to face Al-Qadsiah and Al-Ahli due to play Al-Faisaly. These entries appear alongside the proposed date for the postponed classic as the league’s calendar is revised.
