A section of the away supporters’ stand collapsed during a Norwegian Premier League match between Bodø/Glimt and Tromsø IL, forcing the game to be suspended.
The incident occurred at Alfheim Stadium shortly before half-time, with the score 0-0. Several Bodø/Glimt supporters were among those affected by the collapse.
Both teams were sent back to their dressing rooms while supporters left the stand. Rescue teams attended the scene as the authorities responded to the incident.
The Sun reported that one supporter was taken to hospital for urgent treatment. S emin Pedersen, a spokesperson for Bodø/Glimt, told local media outlet VG that up to five people were injured and that one of them had been taken to hospital.
Pedersen was also reported to have confirmed that the supporter who was taken to hospital was conscious.
Police are expected to investigate the incident, which happened in a section of the stadium where about 600 away supporters had been kept. The match later resumed normally, with no deaths reported.
The collapse came at a crucial stage of the Norwegian Premier League season. With five rounds remaining, Viking Stavanger and Bodø/Glimt were level on 59 points and competing for the title.
Viking were due to face KFUM Oslo later that evening, while Bodø/Glimt had been playing Tromsø IL in a meeting between two clubs from northern Norway.
The fixture listings show Molde and Bodø/Glimt in the Norwegian Premier League schedule for 20 November 2026, with Tromsø and Viking listed for 21 November 2026.
The interruption at Alfheim Stadium temporarily halted a match that carried significant importance in the title race. Before play was stopped, neither side had managed to score, and the game remained goalless shortly before the interval.
Supporters were cleared from the affected stand as the response operation continued. The match only resumed after the immediate consequences of the collapse had been dealt with, and it finished without any reported fatality.
