Al-Qadsiah moved to the top of the Saudi Pro League after a commanding 6-0 victory over Riyadh on Thursday, with Tijjani Reijnders scoring a hat-trick in the biggest win of matchweek 12.
The visitors established control early and turned their dominance into a decisive result, leaving Riyadh with a night to forget and sending a strong message to the teams competing at the top of the table.
Reijnders sets the tone
Al-Qadsiah almost took the lead in the 16th minute when Yasser Al-Shahrani went close, but the opening goal arrived two minutes later. Reijnders found the net in the 18th minute to put the visitors ahead.
Riyadh attempted to recover, but their resistance weakened before half-time. In the 37th minute, Julian Quinones dispossessed goalkeeper Boryan and played the ball to Abdullah Al-Salem, who finished into an unguarded net.
Al-Qadsiah therefore went into the interval 2-0 ahead, with Riyadh facing an increasingly difficult task after a first half in which the visitors had controlled the match.
Second-half flood of goals
The second half brought five more goals. In the 56th minute, Quinones created another opportunity for Reijnders, who scored his second goal of the evening and Al-Qadsiah’s third.
The best piece of attacking play came in the 67th minute. Reijnders turned provider, delivering an excellent pass for Musab Al-Juwayr to score the fourth.
Al-Qadsiah continued to press until the closing stages. In the 87th minute, Al-Juwayr supplied the assist for Quinones, who added the fifth goal himself.
Reijnders completed his hat-trick two minutes later, converting a second assist from Al-Juwayr to complete the 6-0 scoreline.
The win lifted Al-Qadsiah to 28 points and first place in the Saudi Pro League. Riyadh remain 11th on 12 points after a result their supporters will want to put behind them.
Al-Qadsiah have taken 28 points from 12 matches, recording nine wins, one draw and two defeats. They lead second-placed Al-Nassr on goal difference, although Al-Nassr have played one match fewer.
Riyadh’s record stands at three wins, three draws and five defeats from 11 matches. Their 12-point total leaves them in 11th place and close to the danger zone.
Al-Qadsiah’s schedule includes an AFC Champions League Elite match against Al-Gharafa on 02 November 2026, followed by a Saudi Pro League fixture against Al-Fateh on 06 November 2026.
