Yan Diomande nominated for La Liga Under-23 Player of the Month award
Real Madrid forward Yan Diomande has been nominated for the La Liga Under-23 Player of the Month award for October following a series of impressive performances in the Spanish top flight.
The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international earned a place on the five-man shortlist after making significant contributions to Real Madrid’s campaign, including goals against Villarreal and Sevilla. He also impressed during the 2-1 victory over Barcelona in El Clasico.
Diomande faces competition from Alex Freeman, Adrián Niño, Jon Martín and Roy Revivo for the monthly accolade.
Freeman represents Villarreal, while Niño plays for Málaga. Martín features for Real Sociedad, with Revivo representing Elche.
The nomination highlights Diomande’s growing influence since joining Real Madrid from RB Leipzig in August 2026. His performances have improved as he has adapted to life at the Spanish giants, establishing himself as one of the exciting young players to watch in La Liga.
The award recognises outstanding performances by players aged under 23 during the month.
Diomande will hope his contributions are enough to secure the individual honour as he continues his development in Madrid and looks to maintain his impressive form throughout the 2026/27 campaign.
